vegetarian…

Can we sustain our life without meat eating? Can a vegetarian get enough nutrition? Are we actually love all beings? Think about it!

Even though, there are plenty of info on the health benefits on vegetarian diet.

Still they are so many people misunderstanding about it.

General perception on vegetarian diet, some might even comment: “Boring diet, eating grass only.”, “Lack of protein and others nutrition”, “Tasteless diet”, “why pay more?”, ” No enjoyment in eating……..” and many others.

I do my very best to explain the health benefits on vegetarian diet, more important, I would like to bring awareness that animals are same as us, they are fear on pain, suffering and death. Since we can sustain our life through vegetarian diet, why are we still want to change our stomach to be a graveyard?

Every time, my relatives will buy my parent lunch or dinner once they are back to home town.

They are so concern that my parent is not “healthy” after long time consumption of vegetarian diet.

Some might even thinking only through “MEAT eating”, this is the best diet for parent.

Different people have different perception. However, it’s too sad to be not having the right understanding.

Do not believe what you think is correct, until you try, experience, read, learn…. if not, be silence!

My sister and I do our best to be “Filial Piety” to our parent, we want them to live a healthy lifestyle with a simple diet.  Health is wealth! Be a vegetarian, it’s similar to the release of animals daily as we don’t involve in any animal’s killing. To cultivate and practice compassion in our life, to follow the spiritual path.

We want to give something benefit to our parent, the seed of Bodhi, not only for this life and many life to come. This is our way of repaying to our parent.

It’s great to know some words of wisdom on vegetarianism and the treatment of animals from some well know people.

“Vegetarian food leaves a deep impression on our nature. If the whole world adopts vegetarianism, it can change the destiny of humankind.” Albert Einstein

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” Mahatma Gandhi

“Truly man is the king of beasts, for his brutality exceeds them. We live by the death of others. We are burial places!”  Leonardo da Vinci

“While we ourselves are the living graves of murdered beasts, how can we expect any ideal conditions on this earth? Animals are my friends…and I don’t eat my friends.” George Bernard Shaw 1856-1950  (Winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature 1925)

“Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages.” Thomas Edison 1847-1931

“When non-vegetarians say that “human problems come first,” I cannot help wondering what exactly it is that they are doing for human beings that compels them to continue to support the wasteful, ruthless exploitation of farm animals.” Peter Singer

“We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.” Immanual Kant

“The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man.” Charles Darwin 1809-1882

Think about our animal friends before you order any meat for your next meal.

“All beings tremble before violence. All fear death, all love life. See yourself in others. Then whom can you hurt? What harm can you do?” Buddha

  1. Ive been veggie now for a month and i feel so much better. When i was veggie I felt more ‘heavy’, and I had to block out my conscience at every meal. You are right about the graveyard in your stomach – ive never heard that metaphor!

  2. So true! When I was in school a few years ago
taking a cooking class, one of the students thought
    vegetarianism was a disease!
Everyone laughed at me instead of his stupidity. I don’t want to live on dead things. We don’t have the right to end an animals life just because we see it as inferior due to the communication barrier

    • Wow! Excellence, so true! We can survive well without meat. We love all beings! May you be blessed for your kindness! cheers!

  3. I just love your blog! I feel so much shame for the ignorance the human race has regarding our animal kingdom. It saddens me everyday, and sometimes I feel that I’m the only one feeling that way. Thanks for the inspiration. Love the quotes 🙂 Tina

    • Thank you! You’ve a great blog too… Let’s do our best to show great example to others and awakening others heart to protect our animal friends….Cheers!
