5 remembrances

Spend some time with yourself, contemplate about life!

Spend some time with yourself, contemplate about life!

Do you practice meditation?

Do you spend time with yourself and contemplate about life?

It’s really great to contemplate about the 5 remembrances.

“I am of the nature to grow old. There is no way to escape growing old.

I am of the nature to have ill-health. There is no way to escape ill-health.

I am of the nature to die. There is no way to escape death.

All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change. There is no way to escape being separated from them.

My actions are my only true belongings. I cannot escape the consequences of my actions. My actions are the ground upon which I stand.”

Thich Nhat Hanh

Aging

A lot of us spent great time and great money on skin care, cosmetic,  vitamins, health product to maintain youthfulness.

We can only to delay the aging process but we can’t stop it.

As such, no matter how hard we pray for long life, we are going to age and die.

We need to accept this fact of life.

Sickness

A lot of people will immediately reject when sickness strike. They use to think their body free from disease.

They are not going to fall sick.

Is it possible?

Sickness is in our human package.

Nobody can avoid, however we can minimize the frequency of falling sick with maintaining healthy lifestyle.

Death

A lot of people trying their best to avoid the topic of death.

They are so worried to talk or to think about the death. They consider this is an inauspicious topic.

However, it’s better to get ready for death as nobody can escape.

Flip through the history book and check around, you know the best, face it not hide from it.

Detachment

Have you attend any funeral?

Do you see the dead person can bring along any worldly wealth, house, cash, car, clothes, luxury items and others?

Do you see the dead person can bring along their lovely wife, husband, children, friends, relatives and others?

No matter how rich you are, how close is your relationship, how much you are going to miss in this life, you need to DETACH!

Nothing you can bring along at the death-bed!

Karma

You are creating good or bad karma in every second of your life.

You are responsible for your own karma.

You can’t bring anything at your death-bed except your own karma.

Contemplate about this 5 remembrances, you can further understand that life is impermanence and nothing for you to worry or fear.

You are the one who cause suffering to yourself!

May your heart be peaceful and free!
