Some of us, we give priority to make wealth to ensure we and our family can live a good life. We are willing to give all our time to earn money and never come across for spiritual practice. We might think this is waste of time. We assume spiritual practice can’t feed our stomach. Is it truth?
Of course, you need to earn money to support your life and your family yet be moderate and spend time wisely. You need a strong mind to support when you are facing any challenging moment. Moreover, You’ll never know when is the moment. Why not be ready?
Our hard-earned wealth can sweep away by natural disaster, robbery, economy crisis, collapsed of share market and others in any moment of life. Nothing is permanence and nothing is belong to you.
One of my teacher from Nepal, she shared with us on her experience during the recent earthquake. She was at level 12, and the building like collapsing, she felt like she was going to throw out from the window. She saw heavy dust flying up as a lot of building were destroyed, she heard the screaming and yelling from people out of fear. In her mind, she thought this was the last moment of her life, she was going to die soon. Thanks to her deep spiritual practice, she accepted death and nothing to be fear and worry. She survived and instead of mourning, sad, depressed, immediately she started to help the victims of earthquake.
One of her profound sharing, “Wealth can be taken away anytime, the heart of kindness, compassion, happiness, peace, No one can take away from you. All this kind virtues will become the pillar of strength when you are facing any challenges in life. You are able to smile instead of trap yourself in sadness and negativity.
Walk the path when you are still have a chance. You are able to remain peace and calm and help others during the critical moment in life. How valuable! Whatever you learn and practice, not meant for yourself only yet bring huge benefits to your surrounding. The purpose of life is to serve others and continue to bring happiness to our surrounding not only monetary support… the simplest thing, perhaps a happy and warm smile to touch people’s heart. Of course, You can!
A happy and warm smile from me to all of you, “May you be well and happy!”
