Do you mindful in your daily life?
Do you aware or notice there are many thoughts appear in your mind?
Do you notice that your mind full of thoughts of the past and future?
During our stay in Monastery, we were given a bowl of water and we need to hold it and keep walking. It was a silence walk!
It’s a great experience to further understand your mind activity, whether you are mindful or not.
If you are not mindful, the water will drop out from the bowl.
You need to do mindful walking.
“Walk as if you are kissing the Earth with your feet.”
By Thich Nhat Hanh
My personal experience, whenever I am not at now, the water was shaking strongly as my mind and body was not align. Immediately, I took a deep breath, relaxing my body and be at now, then the water remained calm and I continued my mindful walking.
Besides, I am walking with a happy mind, no stress, no tension, no fear, no worry and I am smiling too…so, my body was in a total relaxing mode.
With this happy mind and full awareness, no single drop of water, dropped out from the bowl.
From this experience, it deepen my understanding that be mindful and be at now, in any moment of life, we can live life to fullest, experience the lightness in body and mind and also sustain our energy. Once we are not mindful and our thought running like “wild Monkey”, there is higher potential for us to make some error in life, we might also “hurt” or “offense” others through our unintentional body action and speech.
As such, not only be mindful during our practice of meditation but apply to our daily life. This is a great method to achieve self benefit and benefit others.
