“Life is simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” By Confucius

A lot of my friends are keep asking about my experience on the recent stay in monastery.

It was a great opportunity to deepen my understanding that “We don’t so MUCH in life”, “Simple and discipline life is the best way of living.”

Some of my friends even asked “what did you bring back from your trip?”

My answer is so simple, “To be a better person who can bring happiness, peace and calm to surrounding.”

The daily routine was woke up at 4 am and go to bed by 10 pm.

All of us were slept on floor, the space given was 2 ft X 6 ft, together with about 150 persons in a hall.

Only basic necessity, a pillow and blanket, there is no bed.

Besides, a best opportunity for us to practice patience when we live together with so many people.

Think about it,

You need to queue for long time to get a chance to use wash room, brush your teeth, shower, to get drinking water…

Without patience and great love to others, you might get angry, stress, tension….

You need to tolerate and accept a lot of unintentional habit from others, snoring while sleeping,

searching their belonging in plastic bag while others sleeping…..

Even though the life is not as comfortable as home in term of material stuff, however, we can slow down  and have a best taste of life. To look inward, instead of outward.

What are we chasing in life? To be more wealthy, more fame, more power, more property….

Are you spend More time with yourself? To know your need, to live a quality life?

Is it worth to spend all your life to keep chasing for external stuffs?

Why not spend your precious time to look inward? You are a Precious GEM!

A simple life is the best way of living!

To support mother and father, to cherish wife and child and to have a simple livelihood; this is the good luck.
