To avoid your hand get injury, its better you wear glove when you handle cactus plant…Its similar to our life, let’s take precept to safeguard our life…

When you need to carry hot-pot, normally you need to use glove to protect your hand from the heat.

When you are going to pluck a rose, you might also use glove to protect your hand from thorn.

When you are in winter, you’ll also wear a grove to protect your hand from chapped

When we look at all this example, it’s so normal, right?

However, when we ask people to take the 5 precepts,

1. To refrain from killing.

2. To refrain taking things for not given.

3. To refrain from sexual misconduct

4. To refrain from lying

5. To refrain from taking intoxicants.

They are so concern, fear and worry on what will happen when they breach precepts… some even think for such a long time, to consider so many factors before they take any action.

Some even comment:

“If I don’t take the precepts, I can breach and I am not responsible for the Karma.”

“It’s too hard for me to follow the precepts, I can’t enjoy good life….”

“I’ll take the precepts when I am ready”

Imagine, another scenario if there is no traffic light or roundabout, can you drive and reach to the destination on time?

What will happen? Havoc…

To follow the precepts are similar to wearing the glove, traffic light, its act for protection and reminder in our daily life. It safeguard us from all the unwholesome actions and also bad consequences.

Whether we are taking precepts or not, we are responsible for karma which cause by our body, speech and mind.

Take the precepts, to safeguard you and help you on the path to be a good person and also to protect other beings.

When you are a good person, you are not going to harm others.

“Self benefit and benefit others.”

Let’s work together to build a better world!
