Prambanan temple.. the most beautiful Hindu Temple.

Before we move to Borobudur, we spent sometimes to visit Prambanan temple, the most beautiful Hindu temple in the world.

It’s listed under UNESCO World heritage site. The temple is 17km from Yogjakarta.

It was amazing experience!

Built in the 10th century, this is the largest temple compound dedicated to Shiva in Indonesia. Rising above the centre of the last of these concentric squares are three temples decorated with reliefs illustrating the epic of the Ramayana, dedicated to the three great Hindu divinities (Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma) and three temples dedicated to the animals who serve them.

The beautiful temple…. So nice!

What a beautiful crafting! Amazing!

What a beautiful craving! Amazing!

Even though the temple look solid, however the temple was damaged during the May 2006 Java earthquake. Nothing is permanence!

A beautiful sunny day, so lucky it was windy…Not so hot..

A beautiful sunny day, so lucky it was windy…Not so hot..

How beautiful is the Prambanan temple!

How beautiful is the Prambanan temple! It was so windy, we need to cover our face as so sandy..

Some of the debris…It teach us to treasure now! Don't cling on to all material stuffs, always remember impermanence!

Some of the debris…It taught us to treasure now! Don’t cling on to anything, always remember impermanence!

Our gratitude to our ancestors for leaving behind such a magnificent and beautiful temple.

Let’s do our best to preserve it, and give opportunities to our next generation to pay a visit.

“That nothing is static or fixed, that all is fleeting and impermanent, is the first mark of existence. It is the ordinary state of affairs. Everything is in process. Everything—every tree, every blade of grass, all the animals, insects, human beings, buildings, the animate and the inanimate—is always changing, moment to moment.”

  1. Reblogged this on Jejak Langkah… and commented:
Beautifully captured and written… Prambanan… one of our (Indonesian) culture.
Many said that Indonesia is beautiful. But many Indonesian would say: ‘I love travelling out of this country’
Sad… while others from all around the world love it.

And about the writing… it is true. Nothing would last forever. Cherries every moment you have in this life… coz we never know when it will end

  2. The picture with the caption “How beautiful is the Prambanan temple! It was so windy, we need to cover our face as so sandy..” is really nice!
