Attachment…

And once we have the condition of peace and joy in us, we can afford to be in any situation. Even in the situation of hell, we will be able to contribute our peace and serenity. The most important thing is for each of us to have some freedom in our hearts. By Thich Nhat Hanh

Have you ever imagine if you accidently deleted all your phone content, e.g. your contact, your email, your photos?

How is your reaction?

Are you in stress, anger, sad, helpless, fear, blame, full of negative emotions?

Are you attach to your phone heavily?

Can you survive without your phone content?

Yesterday, I accidentally deleted all the content from my sister’s mobile phone.

To my surprise, she is so cool and relax, “Never mind, it’s happened, no point to get angry and  see what’s the best we can do ?”

She even mentioned: “It’s great too, the phone is faster without all “content”….

What a great and positive attitude for us to learn, let go and move forward.

She is my teacher, the calmness and coolness attitude when we are facing crisis in life.

Don’t jump to anger mode, don’t open your mouth when you are in anger, this can’t help at all.

Moreover, this incident also best shown on the impermanence of life, to let go our attachment.

“Attachment only gives pain. It promises happiness but in reality does not give any happiness. Having a desire for happiness but experiencing misery is what attachment is.
It is because you are caught in attachment, you are not able to recognize your true Self. In such moments, your situation seems to be so big to you that you are unable to see anything else.”

  1. Your sister has a good attitude. I would be okay if my phone content was deleted. However, if it was my computer content it may be a different story.
