Candle light procession

Yesterday, I had a meaningful Wesak day celebration.

Early in the morning,  I participated as a volunteer in temple.

It was so great as I can contribute to community, to serve is better than to receive.

I am so happy to see many people brought their parent, children, family members to pay respect to Buddha.

In the evening, Sis and I went to participate the candle light procession.

It was raining before the event, it was great as this cool down the superb hot weather and give us the fresh breeze during the procession.

It was so crowded in the temple, we spent a great effort to squeeze in.

More than 10,000 people participated in the procession.

Total distance: more than 13 km, we spent more than 4 hours on walking.

I felt the pain and discomfort in my body as it was a long journey. However, I kept reminded myself that Buddha, our great master, kept walking in order to give valuable teaching. My discomfort was nothing.

I made a vow that I’ll continually to purify my body, speech and mind as a biggest Respect and Gratitude to Buddha’s teaching. I vow to be a Good Person and do my best to create good karma, not only benefit to myself and also to all beings.

I do hope that you also make a vow, to be a good person. We need more good person who do good deeds, give good speech and have good thought all the time to create a pure land in this world.

Join me on the journey of candle light procession….

Beautiful lighting, it light up in the dark, it just like the teaching from Buddha, for us to remove our ignorant and cultivate our wisdom life.

“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself. When you are born a lotus flower, be a beautiful lotus flower, don’t try to be a magnolia flower. If you crave acceptance and recognition and try to change yourself to fit what other people want you to be, you will suffer all your life. True happiness and true power lie in understanding yourself, accepting yourself, having confidence in yourself.” – Thich Nhat Hanh,

  1. Beautiful lighting and attention to details in the decoration. Yesterday I and my wife celebrated Wesak Day in the morning. We stumbled upon a Wesak day open house celebration in some tents set up in an open car parking space on the road tarmac near our residence in Taman Puncak Jalil. Despite the modest setting we could see that all the volunteers were clearly deligently devoted to their task in helping out in the event.
May all beings be well, happy and free of sufferings.
    Happy Wesak Day
