Speech

“I am a direct person, so……..”

Have you ever heard this sentence from your friend?

It’s great to be a direct person, however even though you are a direct person, you must share something benefit to others. If whatever you say, you can’t benefit to others, keep silence.

There is a lot of miscommunication, tension in relationship happen due to wrong speech.

As such, we must be mindful on our speeches.

According to Buddha’s teaching, there are 3 types of speeches:

Give speech like flower and honey… which can bring benefits and cheer up other's life!

Give speech like flower and honey… which can bring benefits and cheer up other’s life!

1. Like flower

How do you feel when you are seeing blossom flowers?

You feel joy, happiness and full of positive energy.

Some of us might give a speech like flower, which bring fragrance to the surrounding.

People love to be associated with this group of people. They feel great!

Are you one of them?

How lovely!

2. Like honey

Honey is benefited to human health.

Some of us always share speeches which can benefit to others, e.g sharing dhamma, sharing wisdom, sharing knowledge…

They can motivate, give encouragement and also transcend other’s life.

Are you one of them?

How wonderful!

c. Dung

How do you feel when you look at a dung?

Unpleasant/ keep a distance/ dislike…..

Some of us might give speeches which bring harm to others, like harsh words, cheating, uselessness words…

If you are keen to dump “dung” to others, better keep your mouth shut.

Don’t demoralize and bring negativity to others.

In future, think before you open your mouth.

Bring happiness, joy, smile, laughter, love to others.

Let’s build a world full of positive energy through our right speech!

  1. What people sow they will harvest, as you say better to approach others like flowers and honey than a pile of dung.
